Wine region Burgundy is one of the most renowned wine-growing regions worldwide. A lot of well-known vineyards are extended over this region: from Chablis in the north, which is only a few hours by car away from Paris, to Beaujolais in the south. In between, the Côte d’Or (consisting of Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune), which is the home of all great white and red Burgundy wines. Two types of grape are dominant in Burgundy: the silky Pinot Noir, which smells like strawberries and the intensive fruity Chardonnay. Nowhere in the world, winelovers find so many high classified wines as on the Route des Grands Crus: Chambertin Grand Cru, Musigny Grand Cru, Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru “Les Amoureuses”, Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru…. Chambolle-Musigny, location of the headquarter of Château André Ziltener, is situated directly at the Route des Grands Crus and is one of the best crues of the Côte d’Or. |
